Pranayama

Pranayama refers to breath control or the breathing exercises in yoga. Prana is the vital force or life energy, andyama means ”to extend.” In yoga it is the awareness of the breath that helps move you fluidly through the asana. Some forms of yoga concentrate solely on the breath, and without incorporating the breath, you’re not actually doing yoga. Pranayama is also the catalyst for relaxation and may be practiced alone or with the postures.
